SAVE OUR SCHOOL

Dear Senator Dutton:

   

My name is Luis Zarate and I am a 8Th grader at Urban Promise Academy in Oakland, CA. The thing I will miss most at Urban Promise Academy if we do not get funding is all of the equipment, teachers accessories for classes and books to get our knowledge. Oakland needs educated young people so that the government can see how our school does and helps learn. Please support my education by letting California vote on the tax extension measure.

As African Americans

They should have rights.

Rights to vote,

Rights to be equal.

They should not be treated as slaves,

They should be able to do things whites do!

They need food,

They need shelter,

They need money.

The Mask

I wear the mask that grins but lies,
But I only lie when I'm not shy,
And I ask myself why?

I regret a lot of things from my past,
But my life is moving to fast
I feel a lot of bass
And sit , but watch everything pass.

We all should be free,
Be free to grow a lemon tree,
Like me.
